Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tsp salt
- 240 grams flour (1 1/2 cups)
- 150 ml warm milk (3/5 cup)
- Bunch of parsley, chopped
- 150 grams cheddar cheese, grated
- Small bunch of dill, chopped
- 60 grams butter, melted
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add the warm milk and melted butter, stirring until the dough starts to come together. Knead gently until smooth and elastic.
- Add Herbs and Cheese: Fold in the chopped parsley, dill, and grated cheddar cheese until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Shape the Dough: Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness, ensuring it fits the size of your frying pan.
- Cook in the Frying Pan: Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add a small amount of butter. Once the pan is hot, place the dough in and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy on one side. Flip and cook the other side for another 5-7 minutes until fully cooked and golden brown.
- Serve: Once cooked, remove from the pan, slice into wedges, and serve hot. Enjoy on its own or paired with a fresh salad or soup.
Notes
- For a softer texture, replace some of the flour with whole wheat or gluten-free flour.
- You can also try adding garlic or chili flakes to give the bread a little extra kick.
- To make it extra cheesy, consider adding more cheddar or even mixing in some mozzarella.
- If you prefer a lighter version, opt for low-fat cheese and butter substitutes.
