This Creamy Garlic Chicken is the definition of effortless indulgence—tender chicken breasts baked under a rich layer of seasoned cream cheese, Italian cheese, and garlic, then finished with a gooey cheddar topping. It’s simple to prepare, packed with flavor, and perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup shredded Italian blend cheese
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup cream cheese (softened for easier mixing, but not required)
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (or ½ teaspoon for a milder flavor)
Salt and pepper to taste
Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly coat a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded Italian cheese, garlic, and Italian seasoning. Mix until creamy.

  3. Place the chicken breasts into the prepared baking dish. Season with salt and pepper as desired.

  4. Spread the creamy garlic mixture evenly over each piece of chicken using a spatula.

  5. Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and no longer pink in the center.

  6. Remove the foil, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the chicken, and return to the oven uncovered. Bake for another 5 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

  7. Serve hot with your favorite sides like garlic mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or a crisp green salad.

Notes

Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easy mixing and smoother texture.
For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or chopped fresh herbs like parsley or basil to the cheese mixture.
This dish pairs well with pasta or rice to soak up the creamy sauce.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently to maintain creaminess.
