Description

Crispy Fried Fish Burgers are a delicious and flavorful meal featuring breaded and fried fish fillets served on hamburger buns with fresh toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Tartar sauce

Instructions

  1. Cut the fish fillets into burger-sized pieces.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another bowl, pour the buttermilk.
  4. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  5. Dip each piece of fish first into the flour mixture, then into the buttermilk, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.
  6. In a large skillet, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  7. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded fish pieces in batches, frying for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  9. Toast the hamburger buns lightly.
  10. Assemble the burgers by placing a piece of fried fish on the bottom half of each bun, adding lettuce, tomato slices, and a generous dollop of tartar sauce.
  11. Top with the other half of the bun.
  12. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, try adding a slice of cheese on top of the fish while it’s still hot.
  • You can also substitute the fish with shrimp for a delicious seafood twist.
