Description

Decadent Pecan Turtle Bars are a delicious treat combining the flavors of pecans, chocolate, and caramel in a soft, chewy bar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped pecans and chocolate chips.
  7. Spread half of the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  8. Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter.
  9. Spoon the remaining batter on top, spreading it gently, and then drizzle the rest of the caramel sauce over the top.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  11. Allow the bars to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding a pinch of sea salt on top of the caramel before baking.
  • You can also substitute walnuts for pecans if you prefer a different nut.
  • For a fun twist, add a layer of shredded coconut on top of the chocolate chips before baking.
