Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar. Whisk together until well mixed.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir with a wooden spoon or spatula until a dough begins to form.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. After rising, punch down the dough to release air. Shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  7. Cover the loaf pan with the kitchen towel and let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes, or until it has risen above the rim of the pan.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • To enhance the flavor, consider adding 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the dry ingredients for a hint of spice.
  • For a richer taste, substitute half of the milk with buttermilk.
