Garlic Butter Dinner Rolls are soft, flavorful delights that are perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (for brushing)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, salt, and the yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  7. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
  8. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  9. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  11. Brush the garlic butter mixture over the rolls before baking.
  12. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  13. If desired, sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a cheesy twist, add shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese into the dough before shaping.
  • For a sweeter version, brush the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar after baking.
