  • Author: Amal
  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 1 loaf 1x

Description

This no-knead cheese bread is the perfect combination of simplicity and flavor. With a soft, airy crumb and a golden, cheesy crust, it’s an effortless way to enjoy homemade bread without the hard work. Whether served as a snack, side dish, or toasted for breakfast, every bite is irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 400 ml warm milk
  • 15 grams sugar
  • 10 grams dry yeast
  • 480 grams wheat flour, sifted
  • 8 grams salt
  • 20 grams olive oil
  • 200 grams mozzarella or cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Vegetable oil, for greasing

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and dry yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine sifted flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil, stirring until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Fold in the grated cheese, ensuring even distribution throughout the dough.
  4. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for 60-90 minutes until doubled in size.
  5. Grease a baking pan with vegetable oil and transfer the dough into it, spreading it evenly without overworking it.
  6. Let the dough rest for another 20-30 minutes for a second rise.
  7. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Brush the top of the dough with egg yolk for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Allow the bread to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • If your kitchen is cold, place the dough near a warm spot to help it rise properly.
  • Use finely grated cheese for an even melt and better texture.
  • For extra flavor, try adding garlic powder, herbs, or a sprinkle of parmesan on top before baking.
  • Store leftover bread in an airtight container for up to two days or freeze slices for longer storage.
