Description

Lemon Panna Cotta is a creamy and refreshing dessert infused with the bright flavors of lemon, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest (about 2 lemons)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons unflavored gelatin powder
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon zest. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is hot but not boiling.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved. Add the fresh lemon juice and mix well.
  4. Pour the mixture into individual serving cups or ramekins. Allow to cool to room temperature, then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
  5. To serve, run a knife around the edge of the panna cotta and invert onto a plate, or serve directly in the cups. Garnish with additional lemon zest or fresh berries if desired.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute half of the heavy cream with Greek yogurt.
  • Add a layer of fruit puree, such as raspberry or strawberry, on top of the panna cotta before serving for an extra burst of flavor.
