- 1 (10-ounce) bag white mini marshmallows
- Green food coloring (about 20-40 drops, or to desired shade)
- 6 cups Lucky Charms cereal
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup colored mini marshmallows (optional, for topping)
- Green sprinkles or St. Patrick’s Day-themed sprinkles (optional, for decoration)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan – Lightly spray a 9×12 baking dish with cooking spray and set it aside.
- Melt the Butter & Marshmallows – In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Reduce heat to low and add the mini marshmallows, stirring continuously until fully melted.
- Color the Mixture – Add green food coloring to the melted marshmallows, stirring until you achieve the desired shade of green. Remove from heat.
- Mix in the Cereal – Stir in the vanilla extract, then gradually fold in the Lucky Charms cereal, ensuring each piece is evenly coated in the marshmallow mixture.
- Add Extra Magic – If using colored mini marshmallows, gently stir in half of them, leaving some visible for extra color.
- Shape the Treats – Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Using wax paper, parchment paper, or greased fingers, press the mixture lightly to form an even layer.
- Decorate & Set – Sprinkle with green sprinkles and press the remaining colored marshmallows into the top for extra festivity. Allow the treats to set before cutting.
- Speed Up the Process – If you’re in a hurry, place the dish in the freezer for 10 minutes to set faster.
