For the Cheese

  • 1 wheel Brie Cheese Substitute with Camembert for a similar flavor.

For the Dough

  • 1 package Phyllo Dough Use gluten-free puff pastry or zucchini slices as alternatives.

For the Coating

  • 4 tablespoons Butter Or use olive oil/coconut oil (3 tablespoons oil for every 4 tablespoons butter).

For the Sweetness

  • 1/3 cup Fruit Preserves Any flavor like fig, apricot, or raspberry will work.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400ºF (200ºC).
  • Thaw phyllo dough overnight in the refrigerator or at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  • Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan or microwave.
  • Coat the first sheet of phyllo with melted butter. Repeat with three more sheets, buttering each except the last.
  • Place brie cheese in the center of the phyllo, add fruit preserves on top.
  • Fold the phyllo over the brie and seals the edges. Brush with remaining melted butter.
  • Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool for 3-5 minutes before serving. Garnish if desired.

Notes

Work quickly with phyllo dough to prevent drying. Keep each layer well buttered for the best crispiness.
