For the Pastry
  • 1 package Puff Pastry store-bought or homemade
For the Filling
  • 8 oz Brie Cheese creamy variety, rind is edible
  • 1/2 cup Jam Cranberry, Plum, or Cherry recommended
  • 1 large Egg for egg wash
For Garnish
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Thyme or Chives optional

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Roll out chilled puff pastry dough on a floured surface until about 1/8-inch thick. Cut out 3-inch circles and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  2. Use a smaller cutter to create an indentation in the center of each circle and poke holes with a fork.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Whisk an egg and brush over pastry circles, then refrigerate for another 10 minutes.
  4. Pipe a teaspoon of jam into each pastry and top with a slice of Brie cheese.
  5. Bake for about 12-15 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  6. Let cool slightly, then garnish with thyme or chives before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed immediately, but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
