Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by cleaning and slicing your leeks. Trim the tough dark green tops and slice the white and light green parts into thin rounds. Rinse under cold water to remove any grit and drain thoroughly.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Allow the butter to melt while swirling the pan gently to combine the oils.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until golden and fragrant. Stir frequently to avoid burning.
- Incorporate the sliced leeks, pour in lemon juice, and season with salt and pepper. Stir gently to coat the leeks.
- Sauté the leeks for about 8 minutes, stirring frequently, until tender and translucent.
- Once tender, remove from heat, taste and adjust seasoning. Serve immediately.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Reheat gently on the stove or microwave, adding a splash of olive oil for moisture.
