Ingredients

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 240 grams flour 1 1/2 cups
  • 150 ml warm milk 3/5 cup
  • Bunch of parsley chopped
  • 150 grams cheddar cheese grated
  • Small bunch of dill chopped
  • 60 grams butter melted

Method

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Gradually add the warm milk and melted butter, stirring until the dough starts to come together. Knead gently until smooth and elastic.
  2. Add Herbs and Cheese: Fold in the chopped parsley, dill, and grated cheddar cheese until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  3. Shape the Dough: Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness, ensuring it fits the size of your frying pan.
  4. Cook in the Frying Pan: Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add a small amount of butter. Once the pan is hot, place the dough in and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy on one side. Flip and cook the other side for another 5-7 minutes until fully cooked and golden brown.
  5. Serve: Once cooked, remove from the pan, slice into wedges, and serve hot. Enjoy on its own or paired with a fresh salad or soup.

Notes

  • For a softer texture, replace some of the flour with whole wheat or gluten-free flour.
  • You can also try adding garlic or chili flakes to give the bread a little extra kick.
  • To make it extra cheesy, consider adding more cheddar or even mixing in some mozzarella.
  • If you prefer a lighter version, opt for low-fat cheese and butter substitutes.
