Method
Preheat the Oven:
- Set the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Puff Pastry:
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
- Spread a thin layer of ketchup and mayonnaise over the pastry.
Add the Filling:
- Evenly distribute the chopped bacon and shredded cheese over one half of the pastry.
- Sprinkle with black pepper for extra flavor.
Fold and Seal:
- Fold the pastry over the filling and press the edges to seal.
- Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden crust.
Bake Until Golden:
- Transfer to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
Cool and Serve:
- Let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For a flakier crust, keep the puff pastry cold until baking.
- Use any cheese you prefer—cheddar, gouda, or mozzarella all work well.
- If you like a little spice, add red pepper flakes or a drizzle of hot sauce.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheated in the oven for best results.
