Ingredients

For the Dough
  • 1 package Refrigerated Crescent Roll Dough You can substitute with whole wheat dough for a healthier option.
For the Topping
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, melted Adds richness and helps the seasoning stick to the dough.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can be used, but reduce quantity for a milder taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning Using fresh herbs can provide a more vibrant taste.
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Feel free to mix in cheddar or your favorite cheese for a unique twist.
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese You can omit it if you prefer a lighter option.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt Adjust based on the saltiness of your cheese.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper Optional to add according to your preference.
For Dipping
  • Optional Marinara Sauce The perfect companion for your cheesy breadsticks!

Equipment

  • oven
  • baking sheet
  • parchment paper
  • Small bowl
  • Pastry brush

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough carefully and cut it into 8 triangular pieces. Arrange the cut triangles on a parchment-lined baking sheet, forming a rectangle.
  3. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Whisk these ingredients together until well-blended.
  4. Using a pastry brush or the back of a spoon, evenly brush the prepared butter mixture over the arranged dough. Then, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan evenly on top.
  5. Place the baking sheet in your preheated oven and bake the Cheesy Breadsticks for about 12-15 minutes.
  6. Once baked, remove the Cheesy Breadsticks from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Cut them into strips or serve them whole, and offer them warm alongside a bowl of marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

Use parchment paper for a crispier texture and easy cleanup. Consider adding cooked bacon bits, jalapeños, or fresh herbs to the topping for extra flavor. Keep a close eye on your breadsticks while baking to prevent over-browning.
