Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter or peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon sweetener of choice like honey, maple syrup, or stevia
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup whipped coconut cream optional, for topping
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa nibs optional, for garnish

Method

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the almond milk, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, almond butter, vanilla extract, sweetener, and salt.
  2. Using a hand mixer or whisk, blend the mixture until smooth and creamy. If you prefer a thicker consistency, you can add more protein powder gradually.
  3. Once blended, place the mixture in the refrigerator for about 15-30 minutes to chill and thicken.
  4. After chilling, give it a good stir and serve in bowls or cups. Top with whipped coconut cream and garnish with chocolate shavings or cocoa nibs if desired.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute almond butter with a low-calorie nut butter or omit it entirely.
  • You can also experiment with different flavors of protein powder, such as vanilla or strawberry, for a unique twist.
