Dough Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in sugar, egg, egg yolk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually mix in flour and salt until the dough becomes soft and slightly sticky.
- Add blue gel food coloring and knead until evenly distributed. Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 to 1.5 hours.
Filling and Baking
- Combine softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a separate bowl. Mix until creamy, then fold in crushed cookies and chocolate chips.
- Roll the risen dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, and roll into a log.
- Slice the log into 12 pieces and arrange in a greased baking pan. Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Beat together softened cream cheese and butter, gradually mixing in powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk to desired icing consistency.
- Drizzle icing over cooled rolls and sprinkle with crushed cookies before serving.
Notes
Ensure your dough rises sufficiently for light and fluffy rolls. Adjust icing consistency based on preference.
