Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine 2 cups of water, ½ cup of chopped dried figs, and 2 tea bags of strong black tea. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, then lower the temperature to simmer for 5–6 minutes.
- Once the tea has simmered, remove the saucepan from heat. Carefully strain the fig-tea mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a heatproof container, discarding the solids.
- In the same saucepan, pour in 1 cup of your chosen milk and add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Slowly heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until it reaches a warm temperature—don’t let it boil.
- Once the milk is warmed, pour it into the strained fig tea mixture and stir gently to combine.
- Pour the finished Fig Vanilla Milk Tea into your favorite cups or glasses. Serve immediately for a warm drink, or pour over ice for a chilled version.
Notes
Store prepared tea in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Combine just before serving for best flavor.
