Ingredients

  • 1 pound lump crab meat
  • 1 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup green onions finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped (optional)
  • Cooking spray or oil for baking

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the lump crab meat, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, and black pepper. Mix gently until well combined.
  3. Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Place the breadcrumbs in a shallow dish and roll each crab ball in the breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  5. Place the coated crab balls on a greased baking sheet.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and lemon juice, then drizzle this mixture over the crab bombs.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and heated through.
  8. If desired, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if using.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of hot sauce to the crab mixture.
  • You can substitute the cheddar cheese with pepper jack for a bolder flavor.
