Step-by-Step Instructions for Creamy Southern Black Eyed Peas
  1. Rinse and drain 1 pound of black-eyed peas under cold water, then set aside.
  2. Select the sauté function on your Instant Pot and heat oil. Add a diced onion, minced garlic, and chopped bell pepper, sauté for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add rinsed black-eyed peas, chicken or vegetable broth, smoked turkey, and cajun spice. Stir to mix well.
