Marination
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Clean the oyster mushrooms under cold water and toss them in a bowl with buttermilk. Marinade for 15 minutes.
Breading
- In a separate bowl, mix all-purpose flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cumin. Mix well.
- Dip each marinated mushroom in the flour mixture, return to buttermilk, then dip again in the flour mixture.
Cooking
- Lightly grease the air fryer basket and arrange the breaded mushrooms in a single layer. Air fry for 5 minutes.
- Brush mushrooms with oil and continue air frying for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Let the mushrooms rest for a couple of minutes after air frying to maintain crispiness and enhance flavors.
