Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Cream ½ cup of softened butter and ¼ cup of granulated sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  2. Add in one egg yolk and one teaspoon of vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  3. Gradually incorporate 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of oats, and a pinch of salt, forming a soft dough.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Press the dough into a 9-inch pie plate and prick the bottom.
  6. Par-bake the crust for 12-15 minutes until golden brown, then let cool slightly.
  7. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of heavy cream. Warm until small bubbles form.
  8. Whisk together four eggs, ½ cup of sugar, one teaspoon of vanilla extract, and spices in a bowl.
  9. Slowly pour the warm milk mixture into the egg mixture, whisking continuously.
