Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your donut pan by greasing it.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then mix in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla bean paste until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet and dry mixtures and fold together until just mixed.
  5. Fill the donut pan cavities about 3/4 full and tap to release air bubbles.
  6. Bake for 15-17 minutes until golden brown and springy to the touch.
  7. Cool the donuts in the pan for 5-7 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Prepare the frosting by beating the softened butter and half of the powdered sugar until smooth.
