- In a small bowl, combine your choice of yogurt, sour cream, or mayonnaise for the dressing. Add desired seasonings and let sit for 10 minutes.
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, approximately 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse under cold water.
- Slice English cucumbers in half lengthwise, scoop out seeds, and slice into thin half-moons.
- Slice onion into rings and soak in cold water for about 5 minutes. Drain well.
- In a large bowl, combine cooled pasta, cucumber slices, and drained onion. Add optional add-ins if using.
- Pour the dressing over the mixture and gently toss until coated.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
For the best texture, combine salad ingredients with dressing no more than 2 hours before serving. Adjust dressing creaminess to preference.
