Casserole Base
  • 4 cups cooked chicken shredded
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
Stuffing Layer
  • 1 box stuffing mix
  • 1 cup chicken broth low-sodium if preferred
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and half of the chicken broth. Stir until well blended.
  3. Spoon the creamy chicken mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
  4. Prepare the stuffing mix according to package instructions and sprinkle it evenly over the creamy chicken layer.
  5. Drizzle melted butter over the top of the stuffing layer.
  6. Bake uncovered for 35 to 40 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling at the edges.
  7. Check for doneness and return to the oven for an additional 5–10 minutes if necessary.
  8. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Perfect for repurposing leftover turkey and can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
