Ingredients
Method
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together using a hand mixer or stand mixer until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and milk until smooth and slightly thickened. Let sit for 5 minutes to fully set.
In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, assemble the dessert in layers:
- First, add one-third of the donut holes to the bottom.
- Then spoon one-third of the vanilla pudding over the donuts.
- Top with one-third of the whipped cream.
- Repeat the layers two more times in the same order, ending with a final layer of whipped cream on top.
- Garnish with sprinkles or a few extra donut holes if desired.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- Make Ahead: This trifle can be assembled up to 1 day in advance. The longer it sits, the softer the donuts become.
- Flavor Swaps: Try using chocolate pudding or cinnamon donut holes for a fun variation.
- Individual Servings: Use small mason jars or cups to create single-serve trifles.
- Whipped Cream Tip: Make sure your cream is cold and your bowl is chilled for the best texture.
