  • Butter for greasing
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp dried basil

  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 100 g grated cheese mozzarella, cheddar, or preferred type

Method

  1. Prepare the Filling
  2. Heat a pan over medium heat and melt a little butter.
  3. Sauté the chopped onion until soft and golden.
  4. Add minced meat, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Cook until fully browned.

  11. Bake to Perfection
  12. Arrange the pastries on a lined baking sheet.
  13. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up.
  14. Serve and Enjoy
  15. Let the pastries cool for a few minutes before serving.
  16. Enjoy warm, either as a snack or paired with a fresh salad for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Make sure the filling is not too hot when assembling to prevent the pastry from becoming soggy.
  • These pastries can be frozen before baking; just add a few extra minutes to the baking time when cooking from frozen.
  • Try different cheeses for unique flavors—feta for a salty kick, gouda for smokiness, or parmesan for extra depth.
