Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Slice the large yellow onion into thick rounds, then drizzle with olive oil and Worcestershire sauce, sprinkle with brown sugar and seasoning. Set aside.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-low, add onions, and cook for about 10-12 minutes per side until caramelized.
  3. In a bowl, mix ground beef with Tony Chachere’s seasoning. Divide into four equal portions.
  4. Shape beef into patties about ½ inch thick, making a slight indentation in the center.
  5. Preheat skillet over medium-high heat, add patties, sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of American cheese on each patty and cover for 30 seconds to melt.
  7. Combine mayonnaise, relish, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, sugar, and cayenne in a bowl, mixing until smooth.
  8. Assemble burgers: layer an onion round, a cheesy patty, drizzle with sauce, and top with another onion round.
