  • ¼ cup Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cup Light Brown Sugar Contributes moisture and flavor.
  • 1 Large Egg Acts as a binding agent.
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • ½ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ¼ teaspoon Baking Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 ½ cups All-Purpose Flour Substitute with gluten-free flour for gluten-free option.
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips Chop half for batter, leave the rest whole.
For the Orange Frosting
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter Softened.
  • 1 ½ cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2-4 tablespoons Milk Adjust consistency to preference.
  • 10 drops Wilton Orange Food Coloring For festive hue.
For Decoration
  • M&M’s or Chocolate Chips Use for decorating the cake.

Method
 

Bake the Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt the unsalted butter.
  2. Mix melted butter with granulated sugar and light brown sugar until creamy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mix until smooth.
  4. Sprinkle baking soda, baking powder, and salt; stir gently. Gradually add flour until just combined.
  5. Fold in half of the chocolate chips. Prepare the cake pan.
  6. Press dough into the pan and bake for 12-14 minutes.
  7. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
Make and Apply Frosting
  1. Beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually mix in powdered sugar, then add vanilla and milk to adjust consistency.
  2. Incorporate food coloring until achieving desired hue.
  3. Frost the cooled cookie cake evenly.
Decorate
  1. Decorate with reserved M&M’s or chocolate chips to create a pumpkin face.
