Bake the Cake
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt the unsalted butter.
- Mix melted butter with granulated sugar and light brown sugar until creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mix until smooth.
- Sprinkle baking soda, baking powder, and salt; stir gently. Gradually add flour until just combined.
- Fold in half of the chocolate chips. Prepare the cake pan.
- Press dough into the pan and bake for 12-14 minutes.
- Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before removing from the pan.
Make and Apply Frosting
- Beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually mix in powdered sugar, then add vanilla and milk to adjust consistency.
- Incorporate food coloring until achieving desired hue.
- Frost the cooled cookie cake evenly.
Decorate
- Decorate with reserved M&M’s or chocolate chips to create a pumpkin face.
Notes
