  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract pure preferred
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract or hazelnut extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract or orange extract

  • 2 cups candied fruits chopped into 1/4 inch pieces
  • 1 cup pecans or walnuts, optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing gently.
  5. Fold in the chopped candied fruits and pecans until evenly distributed.
