Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat and sauté 1 cup of diced onions for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle in ¼ cup of flour into the sautéed onions and stir for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  4. Whisk in 1 cup of chicken broth and ½ cup of heavy cream, stirring until thickened.
  5. Stir in 2 cups of chopped leftover ham, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of dried thyme, black pepper, and 1 cup of frozen mixed vegetables. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Pour the filling into the greased pie dish, top with ½ cup of shredded cheese if desired.
  7. Cover with the crescent roll dough, seal the edges and bake for 25-35 minutes until golden brown.
