Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat 1 cup of cold unsalted butter until smooth. Gradually add 1 cup each of brown sugar and granulated sugar, mixing until combined. Add 2 large eggs and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of cornstarch, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients.
- Gently fold in 1 cup of M&Ms and 1 cup of chocolate chips using a spatula.
- Scoop dough portions of about 1/4 cup, roll into balls, and optionally roll in Valentine sprinkles before placing on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 8 to 12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft. Cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For a thicker cookie, chill the dough for 15-30 minutes before baking. Customize by using different types of M&Ms or adding nuts.
