Ingredients
  

For the Wonton Chips
  • 1 package Wonton Wrappers Substitute with tortilla chips if preferred.
  • Vegetable Oil for frying Ensure enough to cover the skillet's bottom.
For the Toppings
  • 1 pound Italian Sausage Use sweet sausage for milder flavor.
  • 1 cup Pepperoni Swap for salami or omit for vegetarian option.
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella An Italian cheese blend can also be used.
  • 1 cup Whole Milk Ricotta Cheese Mascarpone can be a richer substitute.
  • 1/2 cup Pepperoncini Peppers Jalapeños can be used for an extra spicy kick.
  • 1/4 cup Flat-Leaf Parsley Fresh garnish, optional but recommended.
For the Dipping Sauce
  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce Warm it up for serving; can swap for vodka sauce.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine dried oregano, basil, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper. Mix well and set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (180ºC). Fry wonton wrappers for about 30 seconds or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  3. In a large skillet, add the Italian sausage over medium heat, break apart, and cook for about 8 minutes until browned. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Lay pepperoni slices flat on a baking sheet and broil on high for about 1-2 minutes until crispy edges form. Remove from oven.
  5. On a baking sheet, spread out crispy wonton chips. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella, top with cooked sausage and broiled pepperoni. Broil for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from oven, dollop ricotta on top, and add sliced pepperoncini. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

Serve immediately after assembling for the best experience. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, keeping toppings separate.
