Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula.
Season with paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
Stir in the broccoli florets and beef broth.
Cover the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender.
Remove the lid and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
Cover again and let it sit for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
