Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 1 lb Ground Pork or ground chicken, shrimp, or tofu
  • 1 large Egg omit for vegan
  • 3 pieces Coriander Roots or use stems if unavailable
  • 1 tsp Black Peppercorns freshly ground for best flavor
  • 3 cloves Garlic adjust to flavor preference
  • 1 cup Carrots (Finely Diced) substitute with bell peppers for variety
  • 1 cup Green Onions (Finely Chopped) shallots can also be used
  • 1 cup Dried Shiitake Mushrooms soak before use
  • 2 tbsp Golden Mountain Sauce soy sauce is a gluten-free alternative
  • 1 tbsp White Sugar or coconut sugar for authentic sweetness
  • 1 tbsp Oyster Sauce for vegetarian use mushroom sauce
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch or tapioca starch
For the Wrappers
  • 1 pkg Dumpling Wrappers available at Asian markets or homemade
For the Extra Flavors
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil or olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Oil optional
  • 1 tbsp Crispy Fried Garlic optional, enhances flavor

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Prepare the spice mixture by pounding coriander roots, black peppercorns, and garlic until smooth.
  2. Mix the Golden Mountain sauce, white sugar, sesame oil, and oyster sauce in a bowl until dissolved.
  3. Blend the ground pork, egg, and tapioca starch into the sauce mixture for a smooth filling.
  4. Gently fold in the spice mixture, diced carrots, green onions, and soaked mushrooms into the pork blend.
  5. Shape dumplings by placing filling onto a wrapper, moistening edges, folding, and sealing.
  6. Steam dumplings in a lined steamer basket for 10-12 minutes until translucent and filling is cooked.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for best flavor. Handle wonton wrappers gently to avoid tearing.
