No-Oven Super Soft Milk Bread – The Perfect Homemade Bread Recipe

This incredibly soft and fluffy milk bread is made without an oven, using a simple stovetop method. Ingredients
  

  • 150 ml warm milk
  • 25 g 2 tbsp white sugar
  • 3 g 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 300 g all-purpose or bread flour
  • 3 g 0.5 tsp salt
  • 30 g 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for dough)
  • 5 g unsalted butter for baking pan

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the egg, flour, and salt, then mix until a rough dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 10 minutes, then add butter and continue kneading for another 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough, divide into equal portions, and shape into rolls.
  6. Grease a pan with butter and place the rolls inside. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Heat a covered pan on low heat and place the rolls inside. Cook for 10-12 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 8-10 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
  8. Let the bread cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the yeast is active by letting it foam in the warm milk before proceeding.
  • Use low heat while cooking to prevent burning while allowing the bread to cook through.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
  • Serve warm with butter, jam, or honey for extra flavor.
