Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye steaks about 1 inch thick, 12 ounces each
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  • In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add the steaks to the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until a nice crust forms.
  • While the steaks are searing, in a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, thyme, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
  • Once the steaks are seared, remove the skillet from heat and spread the garlic herb butter evenly over the top of each steak.
  • Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 5-7 minutes for medium-rare, or until the desired doneness is reached.
  • Remove the skillet from the oven and let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, add a teaspoon of smoked paprika to the garlic herb butter mixture.
  • Serve the steak with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
