Ingredients

For the Crisp Topping:
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar packed
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
For the Peach Filling:
  • 5 cups sliced peaches about 6–7 medium peaches
  • cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour

Method

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9-inch round or square baking dish with nonstick spray and set aside.
  2. Make the crisp topping: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and cut it into the dry ingredients using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture is crumbly. Stir in the rolled oats. Chill the topping in the refrigerator while you prepare the filling.
  3. Prepare the peach filling: In a separate large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, and flour. Toss until the peaches are evenly coated.
  4. Assemble the crisp: Pour the peach mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle the chilled oat topping evenly over the peaches.
  5. Bake: Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling around the edges.
  6. Cool and serve: Allow the crisp to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.

Notes

  • If using canned peaches, drain them well and reduce the added sugar slightly.
  • This recipe works with fresh, frozen, or canned peaches—just be sure to adjust sugar based on sweetness.
  • You can prep the topping in advance and refrigerate it until ready to bake.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated gently in the oven or microwave.
