Step-by-Step Instructions for Savory Chicken Paprikash
  1. Season chicken thighs with kosher salt on both sides. In a large skillet, heat oil and sear chicken until golden brown and cooked through.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté chopped onion for 5 minutes until translucent. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 additional minute.
  3. Sprinkle smoked paprika over the onions and garlic, stirring for 30 seconds. Pour in chicken broth and let simmer.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet, cover, and let simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes.
  5. Remove chicken, stir in sour cream into the sauce. Adjust seasoning and allow to simmer for another 5 minutes.
  6. Slice chicken and return to skillet. Serve over egg noodles or rice, garnished with chopped parsley.
