Step-by-Step Instructions for Pretzel Dogs
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Cut the dough into 15 strips, each roughly 1 inch wide.
- Wrap a dough strip around each sausage frank, pressing the edges to seal.
- Bring 5 cups of water to a light boil, add ¼ cup of baking soda, and stir. Drop each wrapped Pretzel Dog into the boiling water for 20–30 seconds.
- Beat one egg and brush it over each pretzel-wrapped sausage.
- Sprinkle kosher salt generously over each Pretzel Dog before baking.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20–21 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Or, air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 4–6 minutes until golden and crispy.
