Step-by-Step Instructions for Sarciadong Tilapia
  1. Clean and prepare the tilapia. Season both sides with salt and black pepper. Let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry tilapia on each side for 4-5 minutes until golden and crispy. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil.
  3. In the same skillet, add more oil if needed. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds), then add chopped onions and cook for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  4. Add sliced tomatoes, stir well, and cook for about 5 minutes until softened. Pour in water and bring to a gentle simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Stir in the beaten egg gradually while mixing to prevent clumping. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fully incorporated.
  6. Season the sauce with additional salt, pepper, or sugar to taste.
  7. Carefully return the fried tilapia to the skillet, simmer in the sauce for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with steamed rice to soak up the sauce.

Notes

Always opt for the freshest tilapia for the best flavor. Adjust seasonings to personal taste before serving.
