Step-by-Step Instructions for Snickers Popcorn Crunch
- Start by popping your popcorn. For the lightest texture, air-pop it, which usually takes about 3-4 minutes. If using microwave popcorn, prepare according to the package instructions without butter. Once popped, transfer the popcorn to a large mixing bowl, ensuring there are no unpopped kernels left behind.
- While your popcorn cools slightly, preheat your oven to 200°F (95°C). Lightly spray a cookie sheet with cooking oil or line it with parchment paper for easy removal later.
- In a small saucepan, combine the corn syrup and white sugar over medium heat. Stir continuously for about 3-4 minutes until the mixture melts and transforms into a golden caramel.
- Once your caramel reaches the perfect golden color, add in the creamy peanut butter, stirring for another minute until fully combined and smooth.
- Immediately pour the warm peanut butter caramel mixture over the bowl of popped popcorn. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to gently fold the popcorn, ensuring every piece is generously coated.
- Transfer the caramel-coated popcorn mixture to your prepared cookie sheet. Spread it out evenly, pressing down gently to form a cohesive layer.
- Halve the Snickers bites and sprinkle them generously over the popcorn layer. Press down gently so that the candy adheres to the warm popcorn mixture.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt your chocolate chips by heating them for 25 seconds, then stirring until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the popcorn and Snickers.
- Allow your Snickers Popcorn Crunch to set undisturbed for about 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
- Once set, break the Snickers Popcorn Crunch into bite-sized pieces. Store your delicious creation in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Notes
Watch the caramel closely to avoid burning. Air-popped popcorn is recommended for best texture. Allow mixture to set for at least 4 hours or overnight.
