Preparation
- Drain and prep the tofu by wrapping it in a towel and pressing for 15 minutes.
- Prepare the marinade by whisking together almond milk, vinegar, and cayenne sauce, then soak the tofu for 30 minutes.
- Combine coating ingredients in a bowl while the tofu marinates.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat to about 350°F.
- Coat the drained tofu with the marinade and then with the dry mixture.
- Fry coated tofu in hot oil for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Drain excess oil on a cooling rack before serving.
- Garnish with red pepper flakes and serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
For extra crunch, consider double-coating the tofu. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
