Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the mozzarella pearls in the skull mold and bake for about 6-7 minutes until slightly melted.
- Increase the oven temperature to 475°F (245°C). Halve the cherry tomatoes and lay them cut side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Roast for about 10-15 minutes until soft and caramelized.
- Slice the demi baguette into ½-inch pieces. Arrange on a baking sheet and toast for about 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp.
- In a mixing bowl, combine basil pesto with gel food coloring until you achieve a rich black color. Set aside.
- Spread black pesto over toasted baguette slices. Bake again for 8-10 minutes until edges are crispy.
- Assemble by topping each slice with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella skulls. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
