Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the mozzarella pearls in the skull mold and bake for about 6-7 minutes until slightly melted.
  2. Increase the oven temperature to 475°F (245°C). Halve the cherry tomatoes and lay them cut side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Roast for about 10-15 minutes until soft and caramelized.
  3. Slice the demi baguette into ½-inch pieces. Arrange on a baking sheet and toast for about 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine basil pesto with gel food coloring until you achieve a rich black color. Set aside.
  5. Spread black pesto over toasted baguette slices. Bake again for 8-10 minutes until edges are crispy.
  6. Assemble by topping each slice with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella skulls. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For best presentation, serve assembled bruschetta on a themed platter and prepare components ahead of time for easy assembly.
