  • ½ cup Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour Can use gluten-free flour
  • 1 cup Pecan Nuts Can substitute with walnuts or sunflower seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon Cloves
  • 1 tablespoon Orange Zest
For the Topping
  • 1 jar Jam Use your favorite flavor like raspberry or orange marmalade

Method
 

Dough Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  2. Gradually add brown sugar and continue mixing.
  3. Sift in flour, cinnamon, cloves, and orange zest. Mix until just combined to form a soft dough.
Chilling
  1. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Rolling and Cutting
  1. Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to ½-inch thickness.
  2. Cut shapes from the dough and transfer to baking sheets, leaving about 1 inch between cookies.
Adding Jam
  1. Spoon a thin layer of jam onto the center of each cookie without covering the edges.
Baking
  1. Bake the cookies for about 12-15 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
Cooling
  1. Remove from the oven and cool on baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
