Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Korean rice cakes tteok, sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang Korean red chili paste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup green onions chopped
  • Skewers wooden or metal

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, gochujang, sesame oil, and minced garlic to create the marinade.
  • Add the sliced rice cakes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  • Thread the marinated rice cakes onto skewers, alternating with pieces of green onion.
  • Grill the skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are slightly charred and heated through.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds over the skewers before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add more gochujang to the marinade.
  • Try adding vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini to the skewers for extra flavor and nutrition.
