Preparation Steps
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let sit for 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
- Whisk in olive oil and salt. Gradually mix in flour until a tacky dough forms. Knead for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled.
- Prepare filling by mixing garlic, parsley, rosemary, and cheese in a medium bowl.
- Punch down the dough and roll out into a 12x18 inch rectangle. Spread filling evenly.
- Roll dough tightly into a log shape and pinch edges to seal.
- Transfer rolled dough seam-side down into a greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise for 30 to 45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden-brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack before slicing.
