Ingredients

  • 200 grams all-purpose flour 1 and 2/3 cups or (7.05 ounces)
  • 5 grams baking powder 1 teaspoon or (0.18 ounces)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 120 ml water ½ cup
  • 1 tablespoon oil olive oil or vegetable oil

Method

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add water and oil, then mix until a dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each into a ball. Flatten each ball into a round, about ¼-inch thick.
  5. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Cook each piece of bread for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and puffed up.
  6. Remove from the pan and serve warm with butter, cheese, or your favorite spreads.

Notes

  • Avoid over-kneading the dough to keep the bread soft.
  • For extra flavor, brush with garlic butter or sprinkle with herbs before cooking.
  • To store, wrap in a clean kitchen towel to maintain softness or freeze for later use.
