Ingredients

Main Ingredients:
  • 60 pretzel snaps square-shaped pretzels
  • 60 Rolo candies unwrapped
  • 60 Valentine’s Mix M&M’s pink, red, and white
Optional Toppings:
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles as needed
  • Valentine’s Day-colored sprinkles as needed

Method

Prepare Your Equipment:
  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper, a Silpat liner, or tin foil to prevent sticking.
Assemble the Base:
  1. Arrange the pretzel snaps in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  2. Place an unwrapped Rolo candy in the center of each pretzel.
Melt the Rolos:
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 4-5 minutes, or until the Rolos are soft but still hold their shape. Be careful not to overbake to prevent the caramel from spilling.
Add Toppings:
  1. Immediately after removing the baking sheet from the oven, press a Valentine’s Mix M&M onto the center of each Rolo to flatten it slightly.
  2. Sprinkle heart-shaped or Valentine’s Day-colored sprinkles on top of the melted chocolate while still warm.
Cool the Pretzel Bites:
  1. Let the pretzel bites cool at room temperature for about 2 hours until the chocolate is fully set.
  2. To speed up the process, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
Store and Serve:
  1. Once completely cooled, transfer the pretzel bites to an airtight container.
  2. Store them at room temperature and enjoy within 5-7 days for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use fresh pretzels and candies for the best flavor and crunch.
  • Don’t overbake the Rolos; they should be soft enough to press but not fully melted.
  • Work quickly when adding M&M’s and sprinkles to ensure they stick to the warm chocolate.
  • Customize the toppings to match other holidays or personal preferences.
