Ingredients
Scale
- Club Crackers (about 36, or any buttery cracker like Ritz or Townhouse)
- 1 pound bacon, cut into thirds
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
- A pinch of cayenne pepper
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat & Prep – Preheat oven to 300°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire cooling rack on top.
- Assemble – Arrange crackers in a single layer on the rack. Top each cracker with a piece of bacon.
- Add Flavor – Evenly sprinkle about a teaspoon of brown sugar over each cracker, followed by a pinch of cayenne and black pepper.
- Bake – Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp and the sugar has caramelized.
- Cool & Serve – Let them cool completely before serving to allow the sugar to harden.
Notes
- Use Scissors – Cutting bacon with scissors makes prep much easier.
- Thin Bacon Works Best – Thick-cut bacon takes too long to crisp and may burn the crackers.
- Add Extra Heat – For a spicy twist, top each cracker with a thin slice of jalapeño before baking.
- Make Ahead – Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
